Taxes

Post by lilbabyhee »

Hello

I was referred to by the Canuck Abroad website.

I am a Canadian who studies law and graduated in 2013. I paid tuition and living expenses. Then I got a job and am on a TN visa. This is my first year to file tax.

1) can I get any tax returns for the years I was on student visa and paid tuition, etc?
2) if so - how? I.e.: do I need a CPA or can I file regular.

3) if not, is there anything tricky about filing my taxes here while on TN visa? Anything I have to look out for, etc? Or can I just go to like HR to do tax like every other Amercan?

Thank you,

Do you mean tax refunds? Probably not if you owed no taxes.
You have left Canada, so these credits don't help you in US.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
