Are US citizens living and working in Canada eligible for the 1040 Schedule "Making Work Pay Credit"
This seems to indicate my wife who files a US tax return - married but filing separately is eligible:

It looks to me like it exists for 2009 and 2010.
My wife USC living in Canada) is back filing her taxes for the last 6 years. In all those years she "had no income" to report she thought. But as we have recently discovered Universal Child Care Benefit and RESP "income" (government matching and interest amounts) need to be filed for those users.
We have filed 2013 1040 with schedules, 3520 and 3520A. Working on the FINCEN 114 for June and will try to get the same filed for 2008-2012 next week.
After going through all the returns I noticed the Schedule M for 2009 and 2010 and will end up getting a check from the US government. It seems so strange as I thought that was meant to be a stimulus package in the US.
I still have my question - Have US citizens living in Canada claimed this in the past (or recently)?
Thanks,
Don
