Self-employed - Home office deductions

Post by ray »

Hi,

This is more of a general question, but I'm currently a student living with my parents, yet I occasionally take on freelance gigs in their home.

Am I entitled to home office deductions like internet and electricity even though I don't own the home, but live there?

Thanks for reading!

No.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best

The only thing I can think of is your Cell phone if its in your name. Like most students though who live at home that is in the parents name too.
