This is our main tax information forum which deals with topics concerning Canadians living and working in the U.S., U.S. citizens contemplating working in Canada, and all aspects of Canadian and U.S. income tax and related adminstrative issues.
There is a strong possibility that after retirement, I may live in US, Canada and a third treaty country each for 4 months. Since 123 days is threshold for US substantial presence test and if I decide to continue to on TN status, what would be my tax home? I own houses in each of the three countries.
Do I have to live in US for 124 days each year to meet SPT if US tax rates are lowest of the 3?
You say "after returemenrt" and then stay on TN. Which is it?

Nelsona,
Sorry for the confusion. I am Canadian citizen and working in US on TN currently . If I retire without taking green card as an option, then I will be staying in US for about 4 months but not exceeding 180 days.
