Canadian Income from US Clients

Post by rebecca »

My Canadian friend is working in part time in LA on a work visa however his Canadian wife isn't able to work. They are currently in the US for half the year and in Canada for the other half. Is there a problem with her doing Direct Selling for a US company using her Canadian address and SIN# and paying Canadian income tax even if half of her clients will be in LA? Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, there is a problem. Selling is work, this work is done in US. She therefore needs work authorization.

The Cdn address is meaningless.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
