is 401(K) deductibile under the new canada-us tax treaty?
I moved to US last year, now I have to file my Canada tax. I am not sure if 401(k) deductible under the new canada-us tax treaty(fifth protocol)? thank you.
Since you 'moved to US' you should not have to report anything about US on your Cdn departure return.
It wouldn't be for 2007 anywyas.

After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
Hi Nelsona,
Thank you so much for your reply. I did not explain my situation clearly. My husband moved to U. S in April, 2007, and I moved to U.S in July, 2007. He was still resident of Canada from January to July of 2007, so he needs to report his U.S. salary(April to July) to Canada. Under this kind of situation, is 401(K) deductible when I file my Canada tax? Thank you.
