Health care exemption in Canada

Post by coco1106 »

Hi,

When we move to Ontario we will have OHIP after 3 months, in the mean time I plan on getting travelers,( new comers health insurance). while we are waiting for OHIP.
We have BCBS at the moment her in USA.
So at no time will we be without health insurance from when we leave USA to arriving in Ontario.

I know there is a penalty if you do not health care in USA, so how does it work when we move to Canada and we have OHIP ,??? would this still be considered minimum coverage by the IRS, husband said exemption "c'
Will we have to prove that we have OHIP .

thanks for any input.

OHIP satisfied the exemption. There is a code on the form. Search previous posts.
