I moved to the US in 2005 so filed dual status NR tax return, which I had to do manually. 2006 I am a full-time US resident and want to use TurboTax, which (I recall) has no form 8891 in software. Can I simply mail the 8891 hard copy as a stand-alone to my tax office?
Also, although nelsona says to submit 8891 every year, line 6c allows you to make "an irrevocable election for this year and subsequent years by chekcing this box." So, if I checked the box last year am I done forever and can forget about it?

No, you have to file every year, reporting (at least) year-end value.
Ttax hasd 8891 this year; Tcut doesn't, but you can mail in later with 1040-x if you wish.

After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
