QU on traveling to the US for an interview

Post by Stuart »

Hello all,
I have never gone to the States just for an interview since all my contracts (todate) have been confirmed without a face-to-face meeting. This time though, I am being asked to fly down to meet the employer before they finalize the agreement. I am wondering if there will be any issues with US agents at the airport in Canada if I were to say I was going for an interview? Has anyone had a similar experience? Thanks Stu

The common practice is to have some form of confirmation of the meeting (e-mail or letter), and -- if flying -- a return ticket, short-dated.

Do NOT carry several copies of your resume, nor any paraphenalia extraneous to your interview.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
