tax exemption

Post by brianbbc »

As Canadian citizens leaving USA, working TN on visa for years, taking up residency in Canada again. Going to wait the following tax year after I established Canadian residency, then sell my mutual funds and stocks and claim the tax exemption to avoid paying taxes to the IRS. We both have SSN, do we need ITIN also ?

Once you have SSN, you are no longer eligible for IZTIN, and don't need it. Your SSN is your ID for life.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
