Treaty-based position on Canadian return
Whenever you take a treaty-based position when filing a U.S. tax return, (on residency for instance), you need to file Form 8833. Is there an equivalent CRA form to be used for taking a treaty-based position on a Canadian return?
No. A statement is sufficient, if needed.
Most 8833's are not needed. For residency as an example, form 1040NR and/or 8440 has the required spaces to explain a treaty position.

After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
