FBAR's and RRSPs

Post by ChromiumDioxide »

Hello

I'm preparing my FBAR for filing before the deadline and wanted to check if Canadian RRSP accounts need to be declared in it?

Thanks

Is this your first year of this?

of course they, along with all other foreign accounts need to be declared. Once you amass 10K in foreign accounts, there are no foreign accounts that are exempt from FinCEN.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best

Are TFSAs to be reported also even if they were closed out in January prior to one's departure to the US? Would the 3250/A take care of that reporting?
