New FBAR filing system?

Post by Zephy »

Hello all,
I am a dual Can/US citizen living in Canada. Just trying to finish up my US taxes. I came across a notice that we now file the FBAR (previous TD-90-22.2 form and now 114a) online through FinCen (?).
This is the site I was taken to. I am sorry to say I am a skeptic but I wanted to make sure that the site was correct before I sent all my banking information.
Does anyone know if http://bsaefiling.fincen.treas.gov/NoRegFBARFiler.html is the legitimate place to file online?
Thanks for answering such a basic (but important to me) question.
Z.

Yeah, looks kosher to me. Same website I went to for filing.

Yes that is the correct site. Please note that you go to the site, download and Save a pdf to your computer, fill in the pdf with your information at your leisure, save the pdf to your computer and then submit it. through that site. Hold on to the number that is provided to you.

I was skeptical at first too but now I like the process much easier than snail mailing the forms.
