Spouse traveling - 1040 Signature

Post by InSearchOf... »

My Spouse is out of town and we need to file a paper return because we need to submit a Form 5471.

Will the IRS accept a faxed or PDF signature page? If not, what are our options?
Can I e-file the return and just mail in form 5471?

Thanks.

Unless you owe taxes, I wouldn't be hurrying just to file today. get the signature whenever and send it it then.

If you DO owe, I would e-file today, and amend later with form.

In fact, I would just e-file today anyways. That is how we handled returns when 8891 couldn't be e-filed.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
