form 8891 - beneficiary or annuitant?

Post by bbhattac »

I have been living and working in the US for last 4.5 years. I filed a form 8891 in the year 2008 (my first year of filing US tax) where I indicated myself as a beneficiary. The definitions given on the form are not very clear to me.

I have a regular RRSP account and a Spousal RRSP account. My questions are:

1. Am I a beneficiary or annuitant for my regular RRSP account?
2. Am I a beneficiary or annuitant for my spousal RRSP account?
3. Is my spouse a beneficiary or annuitant for my spousal RRSP account?

always beneficiary. otherwise you will not make a corrct election or report.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
