Signing the FBAR (TDF 90-22.1)

Post by Mach7 »

Ok...lots going on, but here is the short and sweet of it.

Tabulated my FBAR and Fedex'd it to Detroit...way ahead of the june 30 deadline....only one thing.

I think i forgot to sign the form!

I called the US Dept of the Treasury, but they offered NO help or solution and could not give me a confirmation if it was signed because this paperowork takes months and months to process.

So.....IS the FBAR still valid even if i didn't sign it?

Yes. You will get a letter this fall, asking for you to sign it. Same if you missed an account number, etc.

I guess your OCD had a momentary lapse.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
