What type of entity are shares?

Just trying to figure out what the IRS considers shares held in a Canadian company for the 8938 form...here are my choices;

partnership, corporation, trust, estate, pfic

In addition to the original thread, i have claimed my divident payment on shcedule B of my 1040 (24 dollars). But if the is considered a PFIC or even a TRUST do i have to fill additional paperwork out?

i will clarify the above post(s) that i did recieve a t5 slip on this share account..it is actually a company employee share ownership program....

so possibly they would consider this a 'trust'?
