Is it standard practice for an Accountant firm to use there EIN number on your 1040 then have you sign and send it in?
I was under the assumption i was paying for an Accountant with a PTIN number...and come to find out that they are only going to use there EIN for my return....in fact i am sure that this individual has a PTIN...so why would thy not use it?
I belive firms use EINs. PTINs are for individuals. A firm prepared your return.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
