Hi - My husband is a Canadian PR - we live in Canada. Two to three times each year, we travel to an extremely remote site in Alaska so he can work at a medical clinic that serves a transient village of 200 people. He is considered self-employed. Can we deduct on T2125:
- expenses for his food while he is at this remote site?
- expenses for travel for family members (spouse, kids) who go to the site with him?

For his self employed business expenses he can deduct any amounts related to earning income includeing travel meals and accomodations ( meals at 50%) however NOTHING for spouse and kids unless they are working for him as employees and they are on his payroll and were required under the terms of their emplyment to accompany him to this site.
