Can tuition payed when not a PR count towards tax credit?

Post by xpro »

Hello

I attended college in Canada as an international student and payed international fees. after the 4th semester I became a permanent resident. Would the tuition I payed as an international student count towards tax credit?

Thanks

On your CND tax return it could be claimed according to the slip you will be receiving from the postsecondary institution you attended giving you a breakdown of the eligible months and tuition amounts. You probably have to go online to access your file and print out the educational tuition and tax credit slip.
