Form TD F 90-22.1

Post by cat »

I have a question regarding filling out the form Form TD F 90-22.1.

Does my spouse (who is not a USC) have to sign the form because a a joint bank account I share with him?

I just recently noticed in the instructions, under Signatures, Items 44-46 A spouse included as a joint owner, who does not file a separate FBAR in accordance with the instructions in Part III, must also sign the FBAR (in Item 44) for the jointly owned accounts.

I did not think my spouse was required to sign anything since he is not a US citizen but now I am not sure.

Hi Cat,

It is my understanding that those instructions apply only when the spouse is a USC.

I have the same situation and did not have my husband sign my FBARs.
