This is our main tax information forum which deals with topics concerning Canadians living and working in the U.S., U.S. citizens contemplating working in Canada, and all aspects of Canadian and U.S. income tax and related adminstrative issues.
I was planning on purchasing a webinar put on by Terry Ritchie from Transition Financial Advisors Group, related to tax issues on migration to and from Canada. Has anybody heard of him? Any comments whether I would likely be wasting my time and money?
Your question has nothing to do with cross border tax, its more related to a commercial transaction you are contemplating, this site is not intended for such maters kindly inquire at your better business bureau and leave this site open for genuine matters.
Seriously???? I think its an incredibly important TAX question. I don't want some hack giving me information that totally goes against what Nelson says. There's a lot of misinformation out there, and I thought Nelson might have heard of him, and could give some guidance as to whether he is a quack.
I have heard of him, and obviously if his topic is cross-border taxation, then why would it not be a subject to discss here.
It comes down to how much you want to pay for canned infomation.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
If indeed it is, post highlights of what is relevant for all to see, otherwise make your own decision on what money you are willing to pay we can not tell if hes worth it or not.
JG, you may not realize this, but the cross-border world is a pretty tight community, I know the 6 or 7 experts and we have all communicated at one time or another, so the question was valid.
many Cdn accountants scrambling for easy monay are getting into the cross-border game, by the fearmongering instituted by IRS and perpetutaed by some tax firms.

I understand what you are saying but in the end knowing someone is not in itself a relevant factor or topic to be posted, what is constuctive would be to post what was said that to me is something this forum can entertain.
Whatever, JG. Triunbad asked a legitimate question.
It would be the same if asking what I thought of a particular book on cross-border taxes, or what i think of a certain CA sitting in montreal trying to get into the cross-border game.
