Accepting a tax free job in the middle east - tax in Canada?

Post by megamind »

Hi, i am about to accpet a job in the middle east.I do not know the tax implications in Canada.

I am leaving a family behind here, a house (in both names),car(in my name) and obviously keep my bank accounts.

My question is simple:

how can I earn my income there , retain my house here(my family does not want to move there) and pay little or no taxes in Canada and what is the correct process?

I would really appreciate your responces. Please help understanding this.
Thank you

Unfortunately, you can't.

Unless the country you are going to has a tax treaty which allows you to qualify as a tax resident (very few do), you will not break Cdn tax residency unless you sever ALL residentail ties except passport, and do not return to Cnada for several years.

There is no Cdn-Saudi tax treaty, so forget that. even if there was, for mid-east countries you typically would need to be a citizen of that country country to be considered tax resident

You can figure out your own Cdn taxes, just change the numbers on your current provincial return software to $100,000 in wages. there are dozens of websites tha twill figure this out for you.
