I am a Canadian resident and US citizen. I would like to file my Canadian/Quebec taxes electronically.
Our accountant is good, (however he is from the stone age) suggests that I mail my return in, and send the supporting documentation, the 1040. w-2, (in addition to all the Ts) donation receipts with the return, but if I netfile, then all the CRA has, are my numbers without any supporting documentation and I am increasing the chances of getting audited (which I have no problem with-except for the bother).
Nelsona, does my accountant have a point? I feel that it does not make a difference whether I netfile or paper, and netfiling is easy and simple.
Thanks

That is exactly why I care what you think.
Our accountant is brilliant, just from the stone age-meaning that he is old school in terms of technology, he does not trust email and anything internet related. I think that his reluctance to 'trust' efiling, arises out of the same place. Whereas you, Nelsona, aside from the fact that you know your stuff cold, not only do you not distrust technology, but that you use it and take advantage of it, in any way that it can help you. So I actually think, that you are the perfect person to ask.
Thank You

That's right as soon as you have NR tax issues you paper file, its a lot easier to paperfile since you can send them copies of NR4 and other tax witholding justifications they will ask for in US and in Canada like 1099 and other proof of witholding tax you may claim as FTC. Try filing a CND return in Canada with a W2 with tax witheld on efile good luck.
