Errors on RRSP Deferral

Post by jewel »

Hello,
When I made a slight error in the end value of my RRSP in 2006 (used the maket value of the preceding month by mistake). I`m not quite sure if it's worth sending a correction. Do these numbers have any impact on the tax due if I withdray one day?

I get the impression that what will matter is the book value as of January first of the year I moved in and the withdrawn amount.

Thanks

Not worth correcting. It is just a reporting number, which no one has been able to expalin the significance.

Book value at arrival, subsequent contributions, and withdrawal amount will govern US taxation
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
