Canadian living in the US on TN Visa Tax questioin

I am a Canadian working and living in the US on a TN Visa. I have been here for a complete calender year. how do I do my taxes ..please help.

When did you move to US, and how did you file in US and canada last year?

moved to the us in November of 08 and did not file in the us at all for those 2 months but have since been in the US for the entire year and still am here.

Well, you should file something for 2008, at least a 1040NR. You will probably get a refund.

For 2009, you will file like any other US resident, 1040, reprting world income. You can use any of the tax software to do this.

Did you comply with all the Cdn departure tax requirements in 2008?

Even if he didn't get his first paycheck until 2009 if it took awhile to get a SSN?

If a W-2 was issued for 2008, and tax was withheld, a return should be filed.
