non-resident of Canada

Post by jay »

Hi nelsona,

I filed departure return in year 2007. For year 2008 I'm non-resident of Canada. Should I file tax return to Canada with $0 income or just simply ignore it? Thanks a lot.

You do NOT file a return. You would only have to file if you had Cdn wags, or sold taxable Cdn real estate during the year.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
