US Citizen working in US for Canadian company

Post by leannarh »

What are the rules that apply to a US citizen who is employed by a Canadian company and working from home in the US? I am wondering about tax laws and also any restrictions Canada has for US citizens working for Canadian companies.

As long as you are doing the work within US there is no immigration worries.

The compny does however have to pay you either a s contractor or set up a US payroll for you, withholding IRS, state, FICA etc.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
