Impact of RRSP on converting nondeductible IRA to Roth

Post by rgiustini »

I am considering contributing to a nondeductible IRA and then (2010 or later) converting to a Roth IRA. I also hold Canadian RRSPs. When I convert, do I have to include the vlaue of the RRSPs in the formula to determine the percentage of rollover to the Roth IRA which is tax free, or do these rules only apply to IRA balances?

They only apply to IRA.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
