Canadian dollar accounts in the US

Post by canuckmom »

Are there any places in the US that have Canadian dollar accounts?

I've not heard of any. Of course, if the reason is to make a 'killing' on the currency, you've missed the boat. the C$ has likely peaked (or at leasdt will not be going up 10% in 2 weeks any time soon).

If its for convenience, a Cdn-based account suffice. Set one up next time you are in canada.

Or, you could by a Cdn stock.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best

I believe that some of the banks in border states offer $Can accounts.

I worked for HSBC in upstate NY 2004-2005 and I believe clients could have savings accounts in $Can, although you had to prove you were a legal U.S. person or corporate entity.

I worked on the brokerage side and we could not deal with Canadian funds.
