Foreign Accounts Question
The more I read about "Foreign Accounts", the more I am I finding out with might be included in that category. Bank accounts are a no-brainer. RRSPs, have come to light and I get that now. Also, it looks like the list includes Whole Life Insurance policies, but I'm unclear about reporting ...

Quick Question 8891
My husband has RRSPs in Canada and we are preparing 8891. I am the beneficiary on the RRSPs and would stand to gain from them should anything happen to him. Do I also need to file 8891 for each one? There are no RRSPs in my name only. If something happened to him here, I would automatically own them...

RRSP on form 8891 and TD F 90-22.1
I'm still confused about RRSP reporting. If I report them on 8891, for this year and past years, do I still have to report them on TD F 90-22.1 as well. I thought the 8891 took care of all RRSPs and that the other was not necessary. Also, we traditionally keep less than 10,000 excuding RRSPs in Cana...

RRSP on US Income
Yes, thank you. I was just thinking about reducing the tax to zero after declaring world income and all foreign tax credits. This year's calculation would have us owing and additional $4000 to Canada, so an RRSP could eliminate that if Canadian source income is not a requirement. I thought that RRSP...

RRSP on World Income
If I understand correctly, someone living and working in the US can still contribute to RRSPs if they are deemed or factual residents of Canada for taxation purposes. My question is, if we file US income in the US, and world income in Canada, can new RRSPs be used as a deduction from world income en...

IRS Filing Requirements for Wiring Money From Canada to US
So much interesting information here. Thanks to all who contribute. My first question is...
Are there any filing requirements for moving money between Canada and the US from personal bank accounts? We are US resident aliens, filing taxes only in the US and want to wire some money from Canada. TIA
