I just moved to the US on a 3 year TN Visa on January 1st, 2021 as an employee for a US based company, and my wife moved with me on a TD visa (unemployed). I have the option to update W4 form deductions, and I wanted to switch to "Married, filing jointly", but both I and my wife haven't been in the US for 183 days to meet the substantial presence test.
Am I allowed to select "Married, filled jointly" on my W4 now? Or do I have to wait for 6 months to pass to update my W4?
Thanks!

You can put what you want on W-4, it only determines withholding, not final tax.
