Checking 2017 filing situation regarding 8938/8891/3520

Post by ChromiumDioxide »

Hello

Can I confirm the following are still correct regarding filing a 2017 return, and nothing has changed in the filing requirements:

8938 - still required just as in previous years to list foreign financial assets?

8891 - Canadian RRSPs used to be required to be filed on this form, but no longer needed.

3520 - If receiving a foreign cash gift then 3520 is needed only if the amount of that exceeded $100,000? If I received a foreign gift of $10,000, don't need to file a 3520?

Thanks
