I am hoping someone can help me out regarding my ITIN questions? Thanks in advance for any advice / suggestions..

Nelsona,

For while filing Michigan taxes ..can we use treaty and file married filing jointly option and get exemptions for both me and spouse or do I have to use married filing separately and only use single exemption?

Any suggestions?

Hi Nelsona

At last at a stage of sending in the taxes. Thank you for your help. I was wondering do we send in the 1040 "pro forma" forms along with the 1040NR or just mention that we are using a treaty in letter would suffice?

Sorry for a dumb question.

You need to submit the 1040 along with the mention of the treaty article, attached to your 1040NR
