I’m an American citizen doing some remote contract work for an American company while I am living in Canada as a temporary resident (my spouse is in graduate school in Canada).
I just received a W-9 from the studio I am working for. My question is: is there a separate form for persons who are American citizens living abroad?
My understanding is that I must pay Canadian/local taxes (I know I still have to report my income to the IRS, but I won’t be double taxed on income below a certain level), so I’m am reticent to fill out the W-9...
Thanks in advance for your help!

W-9 is the correct form for you to give client, so that they do not withhold any tax from you for IRS, which is, as you say, not going to incur tax in US anyways.
It is a good thing.
It is a good thing.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
