offered H1B visa by my employer? (now on TN Visa)

Post by tony »

1. what are advantages of converting to H1B visa?
To my understanding, if without a job living in US, I'd rather to go back to Canada to live with better advantages as a citizen.

Furthermore, getting a green card, I'd get taxed even though I don't live in the US.

2. how to calculate pros and cons?

thanks

1. First off, having H1-B (presumably vs. TN) has nothing to do with Green card. If you lose your job on H1, you still have to leave US pronto.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best

Thanks.
What about green card? Can't I cancel it?
Also, I still have to pay tax to US no matter where I live afterwards for 10 years period. Is that correct?

No, but these are tax questions. Ask on tax forum.
