Immigration Reform
I'm surprised that no one has started discussing the proposed immigration changes. The one most promising part for all of us appears to be the new merit-based green card process. Has anyone read any specific details on how this will work? The whole deal sounds pretty sweet for illegals, but what about the rest of us? Would spouses on H4's be able to benefit from the new visa's proposed for use by low skilled workers?
To early to tell about most things, however, the temp worker visa, which requires leaving US, would mean an H4 could probaly work one time on it, buit without leaving they couldn't start again. They would be able to revert to H-4 (that part has been made clear), but unlikley that they would be work again.
Kinda like the 6-year H clock. You can stay in US on other non-immig status after your 6 years, but not get anothwer H1 until you've been absent 1 year.

After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
