US business hiring a Canadian Employee

I own a US business (partnership/LLC) and would like to hire a Canadian citizen (dual residency). Must I establish nexus in Canada, or can I just file the tax forms as a US company?

If I need to create a company/entity in Canada, do I need a registered agent? Can that registered agent be the person I am hiring if he/she is a partner in the Canadian partnership?
