Sponsored my parents now live in US

Post by hoomanmoh »

I have sponsored my parents to immigrate to Canada, they landed in Canada on July 2007. I am now living in the US and need to know if me being non-resident of Canada could jeopardize my parents status in Canada?

Thanks for any comment

The only concern I have is that I checked some of immigraction forms and guides for sponsorship, and it indicates that the sponsor must return to live and continue to do so when persons being sposored become permannet residents. I assume that unless my parents dont cause troubles (which they wont) such as going after social services or complain about me not sponsoring them, everything should be ok, even though I'm not keeping my promise of living in Canada with them, right?

where do your parents live? I am in exactly the same situation. You can contact me directly and we can discuss this further (if you wish)
