On the whole, what are our chances?

Ron, can you advise?

UK family of 3, married couple with 12 year old daughter. Father qualified design engineer with 12 years full time, 2 years day release education. ONC certificate + 4 years endentured apprenticeship + various other lower grade qualifications in similar disciplines, PC literate with CAD skills. Wife semi-skilled + O level school grades. Both in ok health although father was off work 5 years ago for 18 months due to stress in workplace but has been back working full time for 2 years +. Currently back working in engineering as Customer Liaison engineer for fastener manufacturer.

Based on the above and at present no job offer, what are our chances of achieving immigration to Canada, how long to complete task from initial formal application and est. cost to complete?

Looking forward to your comments.....thanks, Phil

We would need some more information including your age to evaluate your chances properly. To start with, there is a free assessmnet at http://www.bestplace.ca/assess.html which will give an initial estimate of your points. The father may qualify as the principal applicant - the mother probably will not.

If you do qualify, I would encourage imediate submisison of an application to immigrate, because there is a long waiting period, and therefater possibly through a job offer the process of obtaining permanent residence could be accelerated.
