I am a Swedish citizen currently in Canada on a visitor visa, living with my fiance who is a Canadian citizen. We are getting married on July 29th, and after that he will apply to sponsor me as his spouse.
Here's my pickle: My 6-mo visitor visa expires on Aug 18th. Meaning, there's not enough time left on it after our wedding to apply to extend it. I'm not sure if applying for an extension before we are actually married is going to cause any problems, i e it being refused.
We cannot afford legal help right now. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
