Rule changes for forms 8891, 8938, and 8833?

Post by dbaezner »

I've read that form 8891 is no longer required. For TY 2014, do I now need to report the RRSP amounts on 8938 instead? Also, do I still need to take a treaty position to defer taxation on my RRSPs on form 8833?

I am, of course, reporting the accounts on FBAR as well.

Thank you.

There is a thread on this already REv Proc 2014-55.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
