Hello... Thanks in advance for your response.
I am a Canadian citizen who was on a TN visa for 13 years. I moved back to Canada on July 10, 2014. I worked as freelance in Canada in November for a total of $4,000 CDN earned. I'm wondering the following:
A - Do I have to claim my US income on my Canadian income tax return, and visa versa?
B - I own property in US and rent it out. Which country do I claim this income on?
C - Can moving expenses be deducted even though the move back to Canada was not job related?

1. No you are considered a newcomer. Read the newcomers guide from CRA
2. US until you moved. Both countries afterwards, with Canada giving you credit for the US tax.
3. No. Canada does not accept moving expenses TO or FROM Canada for any reason.

After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
