US Employee in Canada short term

US Employee in Canada short term

US citizen working normally in the US is sent to Canada and works in Canada for 80 days then returns to US. Employer is a US staffing company but employee is assigned to a Company with locations both in Canada and US.

Employee paycheck shows only US taxes withheld and employee expects to receive W-2 form.

Will employee be required to file Canada income tax return reporting portion of income earned in Canada and pay Canada income tax?

If so, what form will be required? Are estimated tax payments required?

Thanks for any help.

No, there will be no Cdn tax consequences for tis. You would have to be in Canada more than 183 days in a year for this to become taxable in canada.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
