EIN for use on form 3520,3520A

Post by boq »

Our RESP is with a Group Family Plan created by a Foundation. The trustee & custodian is RBC. So am I right to do 3520/3520A as follows?
Name of foreign trust - the Group Family Plan
Name of trust creator - the Foundation
Name of trustee - RBC

If this is correct, does it mean that I need to get an EIN for everybody? Or, is it only mandatory to get an EIN for the foreign trust? Thank you!

P.S. attaching Plan's Legal Structure description from the Prospectus
"The Group Family Plans are trusts established under the laws of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein pursuant to their respective amended and restated trust agreement between RBC Investor Services Trust and the Foundation".
