Post by newliweds »

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I really need to know hte definition of distribution ? Is it equivlent of interstes earned ? How do I know how much distribution is ?

also on the 8891 form, why is there a 7b taxable distribution ? I thought RRSP is supposed to be tax free even in the US as long as you elected the treaty by 6c ? am I right ?

For the purposes of 8891, a distribution is a withdrawal FROM your RRSP, not innternal distribution.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
