File 1040 as commuter GC, claim property tax on CA house

Post by jhuang1213 »

As commuter GC, if I file 1040, Can I claim the property tax on my house in Canada on Schedule A? Do I need tax-treaty clause for this claim?

Thanks

No treaty required. Its property tax. period.

of course, any trax you save on your 1040 will gladly be taken by canada.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
