Hello all
Have contacted the Department of the Treasury regarding FBAR amendments. They advised I would have to wait 120 calender days before proceeding, and that when the time comes they can be amended online.
Has anyone used the 'online' service...and if so, is it confusing, or difficult to navigate around?
I am afraid to connect up in the event I hit the wrong 'button' or check the wrong 'box' and end up getting some sort of filing fine!
If anyone has used this service, would like to know if it is;
a. user friendly
b. does it use the same format as the FBAR form (TDf 90-22-1)
My amendment would consist of the inclusion of a sercurites account i forgot to add for the last 6 years.
I have also noticed I made some clerical errors (forgot to place my tax id number the continuation of part 2, also put dashes between my SSN # when you are not supposed to).
I asked this same question to the agent on the phone, but they kept responding with 'thats the procedure sir'....
Not sure if that is an IRS buzzword...but I found them a bit rude and unwilling to help, (or give out any information that might be used against them)
Any thoughts?

Thanks - and a sidebar: Is there any gamble in submitting an amendment for something like that? It is possible to be penalized for an oversight mistake like that, but in practice, do such penalties actually happen?
Put another way, is it better to just QD the oversight on the following year's FBAR? Or is it better to amend the prior years?

Not a professional opinion.
