T1244 with UFile

Post by lifegrowthfinance »

Hello!
I left Canada to come work in the US in 2024. I am trying to do a departure return with Ufile and elected to fill out the T1161, T1243 and T1244 forms along with reporting my deemed dispositions on schedule 3. However, even though the forms look good on the final return, the tax owing doesn't reflect the deemed disposition deferral. Is this a Ufile problem? Any ideas?

This deferral will be handed manually by the CRA agent that receives your paper return.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best

Oh wow, so it’s not an automatic process then. Good to know — I was assuming it would be handled electronically once they received everything. Sounds like it’s definitely important to make sure the paperwork is super clear and complete if a manual review is involved. Thanks for the heads up!
