Reporting capital gains in TFSA

Post by lkwan32 »

This year, I liquidated and closed my TFSA. Do I need to report these on my Form 1040?

I moved to the US in July 2022.

I've read online that the capital gains are taxable. And so I'm filling out the Stocks and Investments sold section (1099-B). Does anyone know if the "Date acquired" is from the historical date that we acquired the investments, or from the date that we became a non-resident of Canada?
